Hit or Miss

Well, it has been awhile since I last wrote. I find myself in a familiar spot, overweight and needing to get back on track.

I am not nearly as heavy as I was last winter when I got up to 197 (!!!), but I am probably in the high 180s right now. I got down to 181.2 at the beginning of June but my diet has gone insane and the weight has crept back up. I had a lot of vacation time over the summer, which is fine, but now I am feeling bloated and overweight and want to get lean again.

It is a bit frustrating that I find myself here, yet again. I feel like I am caught in an endless loop and can’t quite ever get to my goal. But, as the Japanese proverb says, fall down seven times, get up eight.

Starting tomorrow (technically today since it is past midnight), August 30, I am renewing my mission to get down to 160 lbs. I lost my way but I am back. As my favorite video game character of all time (CJ from GTA San Andreas) once said:

For the first week, I am keeping the plan simple. I am going to cut out soda, sweets and fried foods. I want to also track my calories using MyFitnessPal. That’s it.

I will check back in on Friday after my weigh in and get more specific goals, but right now I just want to do a junk food/caffeine detox.

Things are hit or miss with me, but I hope I can get them locked in this time. We will see.
